I've downloaded the Free version, it works great locally on my machine, but I can't open it remotely onto another machine (internal network) from here. I just get the web viewer showing: Loading (then the URL)...

I've got all the folders correct, it shows correctly on the machine that initially opened it... Do I need Filemaker server to make this work? Or a change to the URL.

If I can get this to work, I'll be implementing it throughout our production system.

thanks,

You just need to make sure that the remote URL of the chart SWF is correct. There is no requirement for FM server.

Dear Pallav,

I have the same problem. (I'm using FM Server 9, OS Windows). What I'm doing wrong ? Can you explain, please what do you mean with "You just need to make sure that the remote URL of the chart SWF is correct."

Thanks in advance

Shai

Hi,

Say for instance you have kept Charts folder (where FusionCharts for FileMaker Engine recides) in http://myserver:80/fc/Charts, you would need to provide this path as FusionCharts URL in Web Viewer object.

http://myserver:80/f....html?v=free...

Hi,

If you are using IWP or FileMaker server please put Charts folder in a server and the path would be to that server not the real path.

On the server the actual path for the database is Hard Drive/Library/FileMaker Server/Data/Databases/myDatabase.fp7. The Charts folder is at the same level as the database folder (i.e. Hard Drive/Library/FileMaker Server/Data/Databases/Charts/. When I run the database locally, I can make my charts work appropriately. When I run from a client it says that it cannot find the FusionCharts Library file. When I look for that file remotely, it does not show up and typing in its path name also does not locate it. The help file gives nice information, but nothing about trouble shooting this. By the way, FileMaker Server Admin Server Console sees the files, so they are ready to be served! Any help is much appreciated!

Hi,
a. Place the swf, js and other engine files in a file server. ( Personal Web Sharing on the Mac or Personal Web Server/ Apache on Windows)
b. Upload FusionCharts Library.fp7 and FusionCharts Configuration Tool.fp7 ( optional, rquired on need basis ) to FileMaker Server.
c. Path to the FusionCharts.html needs to be given correctly.
This currentDir path should be something like http://Trial/Charts/.  I think this is where you are encountering the problem.
$$currentDir should contain the path to the Charts folder placed in the file server as per step (a).
You should be able to directly access the url like this: http://server's IP address/Charts/FusionCharts.html
Then the path is correct.
d. Path to the FusionCharts Library.fp7 from your database  on the server should be relative.

Hope this helps. :)

Srividya
