OK, I found that you can use FusionCharts for FileMaker as single or network and you can place the "Charts" folder anywhere you want, on either side (I use client side but I guess you can use the server too), so long as you make sure the "fusioncharts directory" parm points to the "Charts" folder.  The FusionCharts engine will use this as a starting point to retrieve the needed code and SWF files underneath that directory.  I use Installshield for my product installs, know where the folder will be and so hardcode the directory path ( I also leave a "defaults" field for users incase they move it).  It doesn't have to be in the current open file directory; their samples just use that construct.

Also, the rendering problem I was having in V9 where the chart would not draw to the bottom of the web object was due to the web object options.  Uncheck the "Display Progress Bar" and "Display Status Messages" options; it will then use the whole web object space for the chart.

As for Mac crashes.  I got rid of Beta Safari and loaded Opera as my default browser; no crashes (you have to get Safari OFF of the machine).
