Chart Will Not Render.

Recommended Posts

  1. Created an page for the chart
  2. added the Collaboration chart to the center zone (this will be the only web part used on the page
  3. Launched the wizard
  4. Imported data from a csv file thats hosted in the document library
  5. completed the Wizard then clicked finished
  6. Set Rendering for Java script
  7. Click finished.
  8. Then the page just states rendering data...
  9. My IE Page just freezes, My Chrome page just crashes, Firefox keeps prompting me about a rogue script.....

Has anyone had this issue?

How can i fix it?

It was able to render using Flash, however while rendering i consistently get the notification that the script is causing Flash to run slowly, i believe i clicked the notification about 20x before the chart actually displayed..

My next question is

  1. What is the best salable source to import data from? (it seems that importing large amounts of data from a csv file may not be the best option..)
  2. Would it make a difference if i pasted the data from a csv file vs linking to one thats hosted on the portal site?
  3. I guess im kinda looking for a best practice scenario regarding data in general
my csv file is only 2.8MB

Thanks for the information, you are getting this issue because you are trying to render a chart with very large set of data. And none of our charts support that large data except the Zoom Line chart. That is the reason IE page is getting froze and Flash Chart is showing warning messages. So I request you to please do the following:

1. Change the chart type to "Zoom Line" - and check if this works or not.

2. If possible try to apply Grouping (Aggregation) to your data.

I hope this helps.
