Flash Player 10.1 urgent issue

Recommended Posts

We have just upgraded our Flash Player version to the new current (10.1.53.64).

All the charts used in our Filemaker solution have gone to a really small size and cannot be enlarged.

We have tried multiple versions of FileMaker 9 and 10 and different OS. It is definately Flash Player update that has caused this problem. Is this being worked on?

Thanks

Hello Captain,

Just to replicate your issue, I updated the flash player in Windows machine to the latest Version 10,1,53,64.

All my charts in FileMaker are of the same size as before. I have verified with different versions of FileMaker.

Can you send me a sample file where I can see the reduced size of the chart?

Can you verify that the chartWidth and chartHeight attributes in the QueryString are same as the webviewer width and height?

Awaiting your reply.

Srividya :)

This is fusioncharts for filemaker. It is only apparent when you preview or try to print.

This is an example URL we have generated from Filemaker. If you paste into Internet Explorer you will see the chart normally. However if you print it, you should be able to replicate the issue.

file:/C:/Charts/FusionCharts.html?v=3&sep=;&chart=[chartType=Doughnut2D;chartWidth=535;chartHeight=330]&chartParams=[;animation=0;;formatNumberScale=1;useRoundEdges=1;showValues=1;rotateLabels=1;slantLabels=1;showPercentValues=1;;decimalPrecision=1;;;;;numberPrefix=

Hi,

This is a bug of Adobe Flash Player 10.1 that has been encountered recently.

A bug report of the same has been posted accordingly.

Presently we are working for a fix of the issue and hope to come up with the solution within next few weeks.

Great news, can't wait for the fix.  I have over 1000 users around the country affected by this fault.  I reverted my flash player to 10.0.42.34 and the problem has gone, but that's only on my computer.  I had to remove registry keys in order to install the previous version of flash player and I can't ask all our clients to do that!  If anyone knows a safe and simple way for non-IT people to backdate flash player until FusionCharts produce their fix, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, huge problem here to. Im using 4 different Fusioncharts on one page and have to use the browsers printfunction to print the page. It worked with IE8 before version 10.1.53.64. In Firefox or Safari it have never worked to print the page with the browser. So, what is the status right now? Regards Erland

I understand you're working on this, from your repeated message, but I am being bombarded with complaints.

I am wondering though, is this a fault with Flash Player, since it was fine before, that they might fix in their next version.

Or is it something Fusioncharts have to modify their code for to work with the latest version of Flash Player?

Hi,

This is a bug of Adobe Flash Player 10.1 that has been encountered recently. Also, a bug report of the same has been posted accordingly to Adobe.

Though this is a bug of Adobe Flash Player 10.1, currently our development team is also trying to fix the issue. In order to resolve the issue faced by FusionCharts family, our development team is working hard to come up with a solution as soon as possible.

Thank you for your continued support and patience.

What sort of ETA are we looking at? Days? Weeks? Months?

Have you been in contact with Adobe's Engineers? What are they telling you?

Should customers be migrating to alternative solutions which are not dependent on the Adobe Flash Player, and are more browser-neutral, for example, Javascript-based alternatives like JSCharts or Highcharts?

That's a month now since your last post.  Have your developers made any progress yet?

I am going to give up shortly and start checking out FileMaker chart plug-ins.

Hey all,

I believe that the ADOBE Flash Player version 10.1 bug has been fixed.

Could you please update your Flash Player version to the latest one available and clear your browser cache for this?

Furthermore, FusionCharts v3.2 offers a fix for printing issues of FusionCharts on Firefox, and many more exciting features. Could you please drop a mail, for the download link of FusionCharts v3.2 BETA, here - support[at]fusioncharts.com

Hi

I'm still having problems with the charts printing small. I have installed the latest available version of Flash Player (10.1.102.64), and tried printing your print manager demo chart, as well as several others from your demos, and they all still print small. I am using IE7, though it does seem to be working perfectly in Firefox. The internal users at my company all have managed desktops, so upgrading it IE8 is not something I can do, as i have to keep the same version as the users.

Thanks

Martin
