Greek characters not displaying correctly with setDataURL

Hi,

 

 

 

I have an XML file with Greek characters, saved in UTF-8 and loaded into MSColumn3D.swf using the setDataUrl method. However, all the Greek characters appear as other strange characters. The xml file is attached, along with a screenshot showing the strange characters.

 

 

 

Please suggest a way to resolve this. Thanks.

Hi,

 

The greek.xml file is saved in UTF-8 format but not with BOM enabled, so in order to overcome this issue, the XML file is required to be saved in UTF-8 with BOM enable.

 

Please try using the attached greek.xml file (this file is just again saved with UTF-8 with BOM).

Thanks Rahul, this worked - strange as it is a solution. A BOM is not generally used in UTF-8, as it is unnecessary and can interfere with shell scripting in the general case.

 

 

 

Anyway, good to see those characters appear.
