3-D Pie goes inside out with very small value

With the 3-D Pie, why do I sometimes get the pie dish inside out if one of the values is very (comparatively to the other pie slices) small ? I mean the shadowing is top and bottom as opposed to bottom only, which gives an inside out appearance.
