How to make image popup on the page when click on link (state/country)

How do you make image popup on the page when you click on link of (a state/country) of the map? I am using Java Script format. (I need just an image to pop up on the same page,  NOT a link)

I still don't see in the demo you provided how to link the map just to image in the popup window on the same page. The examples from the demo are links to other charts. 

Will you be able to clarify?
