Blinking/Flashing Map Entities

Hey does anyone know how to get the entities on a map to flash or blink?

 

 

 

We created a custom map of network devices for our university. We want to be able to have critical network alarms be able to strobe or blink on the map, is there way to do that?

 

 

 

I tried to use the alpha to help with trying to do that but it seems like you can only change the ENTIRE MAP not separate map entities.
