Update chart over legend

i have a question why is it not possible to update a chart over the legend like checkboxen in HTML?

 

Checkboxen are not so beautiful to look on a website.

 

 

 

Shall v4 have this feature?

 

I think it is a good idea to update a chart over the legend without an AJAX function.
