Tooltip width seems to clip the displayed text

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

It seems that the tooltip box width is computed to the width of the text rendered in the specified font to the pixel. In some cases this seems to be too narrow and it clips out the last character partially.

I'm not actually changing the default tooltip style and use the default one. I've tried setting the tooltext manually and got the same result.

Any idea?

Hi Seel,

I can understand what you are trying to say here but I'm a bit perplexed about the behaviour you are talking about. I have not come across this kind of an issue yet. :D

In some cases this seems to be too narrow and it clips out the last character partially.

Could you please provide us with a pictoral view(image/snapshot etc.) of the above? That would really help us in providing you a solution for your issue.

Looking forward to your post. :P

Sure thing :D

Find attached a screenshot of what I mean. The 0 is slightly clipped.

I'm using Firefox 3.5.7 on Ubuntu 9.10 with the Flash player 10,0,42,34

Note that it's not on all data points but on some only

Right eventually we've decided it wasn't really an issue since it only happens on Linux (well Ubuntu). It displays just fine on Mac and Windows with Firefox, Safari, and Chrome. Those are our main targets.

Hello,

The issue arouse due to the embeded fonts in linux.
