Msline / Multi Line Graph - Dates Don't Match

using a MSLine / Multi Line Graph, lines are not drawing if the dates aren't identical with the data.

 

for example....

 

item a: plots for 1/1, 1/5, 1/10, 1/15

item b: plots for 1/1, 1/5, 1/10, 1/15

item c: plots for 1/1, 1/8, 1/11, 1/14

 

It doesn't draw the lines connecting the plots.

 

the only time it appears to draw the lines is if all of the dates are all exactly the same, and this isn't possible with the data.
