Importing Data From Excel Into Xml Document

Hello -

 

Is it possible to have the data import from Excel into the XML file for an Area 2D chart? We have a chart that has hundreds of data points and to manually enter them all would be very time consuming. Any guidance is appreciated!!!

Hi,

 

Yes, if you have your data stored in Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheets, you can easily generate your XML file using FusionCharts visual XML Generator.

 

Only you need to copy the Excel data and paste in the "FusionCharts XT XML Generator Utility", which will convert the excel data to XML (as per FusionCharts data format) and then you can use that XML to render your charts.

You can find the "FusionCharts XT XML Generator Utility" form Download Pack > Tools > XMLGenerator > XMLGen > XMLGen.html

 

Please note that FusionCharts does not have the feature of automatically take the Excel data, convert to XML and render the chart, as of now.

Is there anyway to view the code for the xmlgenerator after we buy the license?  I would like to expand on it a little bit.

Hi,

 

As I have mentioned, you can find the xmlgenerator SWF file along with all the JavaScript and HTML files, in the FusionCharts XT Download Pack > Tools > FlashXMLBuilder > XMLGen folder, which is same for both Evaluation as well as licensed version.

 

Please note that there is no feature limitation in the Evaluation version of FusionCharts XT, except for the fact that the evaluation version charts are watermarked.

 

So, only you can do the enhancement in the "SWFObject.js" file, if you are willing to do.

I have looked in the "SWFObject.js" file.  Can you tell me where it does the conversion from pasting in excel text to converting to xml in that file?? I do not see it.
