numeric Y axis need to be labeled in letter A, B, ....

Hi,

 

I have made some graph. For y axis is ranged from 1 to 10 scale, I need to add label as

 

10 >y> 8 as A, 8>Y>6 as B, 6>Y>4 as c. How can I add A, B, C label corresponding to 1 to 10 value in y axis ?
