Forcing decimals for currency representations

I have the following "chart" tag:

 

 

 

 

 

 

The problem is that when I display the chart, the labels on the left side (which are in US$), break out as $2.5, $2.75, etc.

 

 

 

The $2.75 is accurate, but I want the extra 0 to appear after $2.5 - how do I make this happen? I tried what was in the documentation with no luck.

I'm afraid it's not possible to do so for y-axis values. You can however do it for the data plot values.

That doesn't make any sense, since I want to plot $ values.
