Latitude/Longitude -> Map x,y-coordinates

is it possible to calculate the x,y-coordinates on a map for cities, sites etc. if i have latitude/longitude?

 

It seems like there is no simple way to do this and that the conversion formula lat/long -> x,y coordinate is different for each map.

I'm afraid it's not possible currently, as FusionMaps doesn't work on exact scaling method. Instead, it just works on regional entities method.

The original post mentions that the Lat/Long to X/Y conversion is different for each map - does that mean that the conversion is available for each map? It would be very useful to receive those mappings - that would actually be a critical factor in the decision to purchase this product.
